Mission Statement

This Land Is Your Land educates the public about how climate change is affecting their financial well-being right now and advocates for policies that curb activities that contribute to the current climate crisis.

OIL, GAS, COAL & OTHER MINING COMPANIES KNOW THE TRUTH.

THEY'VE ALWAYS KNOWN.

Much like big tobacco stakeholders were the first to uncover the dangers of cigarette smoking, extraction industry stakeholders were the first to research and confirm climate change, the causes of climate change, and the dangers of the climate crisis we’re now experiencing.

More specifically, multiple studies have confirmed that ExxonMobil engaged in scientific research in the 1970s that proved the existence of global warming. Fossil fuel companies have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on misinformation campaigns to oppose regulations that would slow climate change. They claimed the science behind climate change was inconclusive, but the only scientists who questioned climate change were being paid by ExxonMobil!

Although ExxonMobil has expressed support in recent years for a carbon tax and the Paris Agreement (the international treaty to fight climate change), they continue to oppose regulations that would make a real difference. After nearly a half century of distorting and denying the truth, not much has changed.

THE SCIENCE IS OVERWHELMING AND INDISPUTABLE.

AND THE IMPACT IS VISIBLE RIGHT NOW.

  • When you see homes and cars flooding, you’re seeing consequences of climate change.

  • When you see the value of your home plummet and the cost of flood insurance premiums skyrocket, you’re seeing consequences of climate change.

  • When you see entire communities and thousands of acres of natural beauty wiped out by a single wildfire, you’re seeing consequences of climate change.

  • When you see farms destroyed by extreme weather, you’re seeing consequences of climate change. (the reality is farms can’t plant or harvest & it’s putting them out of business)

Not only are you paying for extraction industry subsidies, but your most valuable assets and investments are at risk.

HAD ENOUGH?
